Ajax Amsterdam has officially announced the dismissal of head coach Maurice Steyn, the club's press service reports.

"The management and I have come to the conclusion that this is the best way out, although I am very sorry. People who know me know that I did everything I could to bring Ajax back to where it belongs. But I failed," said the 49-year-old.
