Every day gives the world a few famous people who have closely linked their lives with football. Today such personalities celebrate their birthdays as:
Oleg Blokhin (1952) - legendary Ukrainian footballer, who played at the position of striker, the owner of many records of Soviet football. He once played for Dynamo Kyiv, with which he achieved the greatest successes in his glorious career, Austrian Forverts and Cypriot Aris. Winner of the Ballon d'Or in 1975. Seven-time champion and five-time winner of the USSR Cup. Two-time winner of the Cup Winners' Cup. Winner of the 1975 UEFA Super Cup. As a member of the USSR national team he played 112 matches and scored 42 goals.
After finishing his career as a footballer Blokhin took up coaching. The greatest successes Oleg Vladimirovich achieved on the coaching bridge of the national team of Ukraine, with which he reached the 1/4 World Cup 2006. In the recent past he headed Dynamo Kyiv.
Anatoliy Suchkov (1934-2021) was a former footballer who played as a defender. He is best known for playing for Dynamo Kyiv, with whom he became the USSR champion in 1961. He worked as a head coach of Kharkiv Metalist and Chernovetsk Bukovyna. Later he was a selector at Dynamo. Among the players, whose talents were first noticed by Suchkov, are: Volodymyr Bessonov, Oleksandr Berezhny, Serhiy Baltacha, Anatoliy Demyanenko, Vadym Yevtushenko, Vasyl Rats, Andriy Bal, Oleksandr Hapsalis.
Oleh Shelayev (1976) is a former Ukrainian midfielder who finished his career. Shelayev's last club was Metalist Kharkiv. Before joining the "yellow-blue" Oleg defended the colours of Luhansk "Zorya", Donetsk "Shakhtar" and "Metallurg", Dnipropetrovsk "Dnipro" and Krivoy Rog "Kryvbas". Quarter-finalist of the 2006 World Championship. As a member of the Ukraine national team he played 36 matches, scored 1 goal.
Jean-Pierre Papin (1963) - an outstanding French footballer who played at the position of striker. Defended the colours of many clubs, including Marseille, Milan and Bayern Munich. Winner of the Golden Ball in 1991. As a member of the French national team played 54 matches, scored 30 goals. After the end of his career as a footballer he took up coaching.
Uwe Seeler (1936-2022) was a former German footballer who played as a striker. For most of his illustrious career, Seeler defended the colours of domestic Hamburg. At one time he was captain of the German national team. Champion and winner of the Cup of Germany. As part of the national team of the FRG Seeler became a silver and bronze medallist at World Championships. One of the two, along with Pele footballers who scored goals at four World Cups: 1958-1970. In the national team of Germany played 72 matches, scored 43 goals. After the end of his career, Seeler was engaged in business.
