Vorskla's vice-president Oleh Lysak said that he is preparing revolutionary changes in Ukrainian football, namely, he wants to initiate the creation of the Ukrainian U-23 Championship.
"Our football is falling into the abyss. From Monday I will be writing letters to create the U-23 championship. It will not work as before, because if we make separate U-19 and U-21 teams, the cost of clubs per season will increase to at least 400 thousand dollars or euros.
We need to make a decision to create the U-23, and then play the U-18 for a season so that the U-19 teams can play in the UEFA Youth League. I mean, we need to extend youth schools not to U-17 but to U-18, and the next team will be U-23. This tournament will be able to fight back. Also, the U-23 will be able to recover from injuries in the first team.
U-19 plays before the first team, and U-23 will play the day after the main team. Then the players of the junior and first teams who did not take part in the matches will be able to play for the U-23," Lysak said.
