Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel made history by not making a single substitution in the 1-0 win over Cologne in the 12th round of the German championship.
It was the first time in 13 years that Bayern had no personnel changes during a Bundesliga match. Louis van Gaal, who did not change his players in the victory over St Pauli on 11 December 2010, is similarly remembered.
"The players on the bench deserved to play. I had no purpose to punish them and I told them that. I was just happy with everyone who was already on the pitch and how they held their positions. I didn't want to break the rhythm and risk conceding a late goal," Tuchel told DAZN.
