Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta shared his impressions after the 0-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the 16th round of the Premier League.
"The result. I am very proud of the way the team played in this stadium against this team. We deserved to win, but we need to play better in the penalty area, and some things have to go in your favour.
The fact that we didn't score is just one aspect. We lost control a little bit, especially in the second half, we lost the ball, we went into attack too quickly, because it's tempting to send the ball behind the defence line, which plays high. We could have played a little better in this aspect.
"Aston Villa are in their place, they deserve it, given their home record, because when you win so much on your home ground, you deserve praise.
I told the players not to be sad because they played well. Few teams that come here play like we did today. The result is not what we needed, but we played as we should," said Arteta.
