Midfielder and captain of Zhytomyr's Polissia Vasyl Hrytsuk explained why he expects his team to face more difficulties in the second part of this season. The Zhytomyr side went into the winter break in third place in the Ukrainian league standings, only two points behind the leaders Kryvbas and Dnipro-1.
"Our head coach said that the second part of the championship would be more difficult for us, and I agree with him. When we came to the UPL from the first league, teams from somewhere looked down on us and underestimated Polissia. Even though they saw our team, studied the players and waited for our game, our opponents probably thought: this is the first league, they haven't played yet. And they treated Polissya accordingly.
But, as practice has shown, our opponents were wrong. And it played into our hands.
But now all the teams have already studied their opponents. So I think it will be a little harder in this regard. But still, as they say, the ball is round, so we will decide everything on the pitch," Hrytsuk told the Polissya press service.
