The former head coach of Dynamo Kyiv, Mircea Lucescu, told us how he formed the "golden generation" of the Romanian national team in the first half of the 1990s.
Mircea Lucescu (photo: gettyimages.com)- In the 80s, I brought a large group of young players to the national team: Haji, Leketuş, Balint, Reducoi, Lupescu, Prunia, Lupu... Then I worked with Dinamo and had ten national teams. In 1990, we won the Cup and the championship. In the team that played in the 1/4 finals of the World Cup in 1994, in addition to the ten Dynamo players, there were five more players whom I promoted," Fanatik quoted Lucescu as saying.
