Shakhtar midfielder Ivan Petryak reacted to the corruption scandal involving the embezzlement of funds that were supposed to be allocated to the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
"People are sending UAH 10.20 to the guys on the frontline, while other people are stealing more than a billion? Instead of sending a drone to the Avdiivka area, let the information be passed on to the Armed Forces. Then they will at least think (cunts)," Petryak wrote on his Instagram page.
On 29 December, Lviv businessman Ihor Hrynkevych, who is one of the main suppliers to the Ministry of Defence, was detained for a $500,000 bribe. His family's companies have won MoD tenders totalling UAH 3.2 billion. The businessman is suspected of embezzling about half of this amount, which relates to the supply of clothing for the military.
