The Gambian national team delegation got into an unpleasant situation on their way to the Africa Cup of Nations.
According to The Telegraph, some of the Gambian players and representatives of the team's delegation fainted on the plane. The reason for this terrible event was the heat and lack of oxygen in the cabin. Some players experienced severe headaches and dizziness. And 9 minutes after the flight started, the plane made an emergency landing.
"We all could have died. Everyone fell asleep quickly. I had short dreams about how my life had turned out. After 9 minutes, the pilot decided to return because there was no oxygen supply. Some players did not wake up immediately after landing. We almost got carbon monoxide poisoning. Another half hour of flight time and we would all have been dead," said head coach Tom Sainfith.
