Arsenal's Ukrainian defender Oleksandr Zinchenko has spoken about the war.
"I tell myself mentally, and my wife all the time: I really want to be in Ukraine, because it is my homeland. Watching the news, seeing how almost every day Ukrainians die for no reason, you just ask yourself: what are they [Russians] trying to achieve?
Maybe some people are tired of this war, but all of us Ukrainians around the world can't get tired of it, because this is our life, this is our country.
It's very hard to be away from your country every day. We need to talk more about it, and that's what we are trying to do. Ukrainians who play football, tennis and other sports abroad should represent our country. This is our duty. Everyone who has a Ukrainian passport should do everything possible to make this victory closer. Any victories of Ukrainians cause great emotions among people fighting for our freedom. Many of our heroes are on the front line watching football," The Athletic quoted Zinchenko as saying.
