Rafal Collins, one of the owners of Polish Zaglembe from Sosnowiec, has revealed what he thinks about the appointment of former Dynamo Kyiv coach Oleksandr Khatskevich as the team's head coach.
"We took this "kozak" coach because we had such opportunities. I can not deny that this was facilitated not only by the contacts of the ProStar agency, but also by the power of persuasion. After all, a club that is in last place in the second division of Poland is obviously not what Oleksandr Khatskevich, who previously coached such a team as Dynamo Kyiv and has experience of Champions League matches, dreamed of on a daily basis. But it is obvious that this appointment is a huge challenge for him.
Our new head coach has assembled a squad of 20 players and said to each of them: "I don't know who is going to play in the next match, but if you are on the pitch, you have to perform in a way that I can count on you in the future."
In the space of four weeks we've had a huge revolution in the team. We have cancelled the contracts of ten players and nine have returned. There is a huge reshuffle going on and there are many more question marks. But Khatskevich knows what he is doing," Meczyki quotes Collins as saying.
