Former coach of Kristall, who collaborated with the occupants, died in Crimea

The director and coach of the occupation football club Fregat from Kherson, Serhiy Shevchenko, has died in Crimea.

According to the Kherson Regional Football Association on its Facebook page, after his birthday (Shevchenko turned 66 on 4 March - note), he was in hospital, and this morning he died. Cause of death: infarction of the kidney.

We will remind, after the annexation of Crimea, where Shevchenko worked as a coach of "Tavria", he stayed in Simferopol and for two years managed the club TSC "Tavria". After that he moved to Sakhalin. Returning to Ukraine in 2016, he took charge of Tavriya, which was revived on the territory of the Kherson region. In 2021, he coached Kherson "Crystal" and "Mykolaiv".

In the summer of 2022 in Kherson Shevchenko headed the football club "Fregat", which the Russian occupiers created on the basis of Kherson "Crystal". After the de-occupation of Kherson, Shevchenko left to work with the new club in Crimea.
