The children of legendary Argentine footballer Diego Maradona have petitioned the court to move their father's body to a much safer location, with the aim that fans can pay their respects to the legend at any time.
At the moment, Maradona is buried on the outskirts of Buenos Aires in a private cemetery where only his family members can go. The footballer's children, however, want their father to rest in the Memorial del Diez mausoleum behind the official residence of Argentina's president.
"All the heirs by common consent ask for permission to rebury Diego in a much safer place than the current one. And that all the Argentine people and citizens of the world can pay tribute to our father, who was the greatest Argentine idol", - stated in the petition of Maradona's children.
Recall, Maradona died at the age of 60 in November 2020 from a heart attack.
