After the 3-1 victory over Kryvbas in today's match of the 29th round of the Ukrainian championship, Dynamo Kyiv goalkeeper Georgiy Bushchan spoke about the results of the season, his 150th match for his team, and the Ukrainian national team.
- The victory is nice, but I'm still upset because in the previous game we failed to put the opponent under pressure and recover the deficit so that we could fight for the championship until the last round. So today was a game in which the result was not so important, and we could experiment for the future. Overall, it was a good, open game played by both teams.
It was nice to receive congratulations on the anniversary match, it's nice to play for such a big club as Dynamo Kyiv, but unfortunately, I have played only 150 so far. I want more, and I could play more, but we have what we have.
- How would you rate this season for Dynamo?
- A rollercoaster. The end of the autumn part and the period after the winter training camp we levelled up a bit, but...
In the spring, there were also matches in which we gave points to our opponents, and this did not allow us to compete for the championship until the last round.
- You received a call-up to the Ukrainian national team. Will you be able to have some rest and recover after the club season?
- Today was the last game for the national teams, after which we were given a rest before we go to the national team and start preparing for Euro 2024.
After the Euro, we probably won't have time, we will immediately start training, preparing for the Champions League qualifiers, so now this week of rest will probably be the last before winter.
- Can the current Ukrainian national team be considered one of the strongest or even the strongest in history?
- I have been to only one European Championship. Almost nothing has changed from that team. It's a strong team. Now many guys play abroad, which is good. We want to improve in the Ukrainian league and prove through European competitions that we deserve to play for the national team and can glorify the national team throughout Europe and the world.
