Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Chairman of the Board of Management of Bayern Munich, has commented on the appointment of Vincent Kompany as the team's new head coach.
"Our CEO decided to choose Vincent Kompany as the new head coach. Former coach Pep Guardiola helped us with the choice of Kompany, he spoke very positively about him," Sky Germany quoted Rummenigge as saying.
According to Sport Bild, Hans-Dieter Flick would have been ready to sign a one-year deal with Bayern Munich, as Uli Geness and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge supported a possible return. However, Max Eberl preferred to start the rebuilding with Vincent Kompany. Eberl had doubts whether Flick would support a major rebuilding of the team.
