Shakhtar CEO Sergei Palkin said that the club plans to sue Tottenham because of the Londoners' refusal to pay compensation for Manor Solomon.
"I feel very bad about Tottenham. I can't believe that a club with a great history - not only European but also world-class - can behave like this. From my point of view, this is unacceptable behavior. They took advantage of the war.
Maybe if it was a very small club in Europe with a small budget, I could understand it. But Tottenham? Tottenham. How is that possible? It's very strange that everyone says we are one football family when one of the top clubs gets a player for free and the market value of this player is 25 million euros (£21.15 million). We have invested in this player and developed this player for this cost.
I even told Tottenham: "Guys, I don't need money for him now. Let's have some kind of remuneration for the sale in the future, like 30 or 40 percent. That would be enough for us." But they said: "No, no, we can't give you that. We'll give you 10 percent." I said: "Guys, this is not serious. Giving us 10 percent is disrespectful. You are not behaving like a football family. You are behaving like robbers on the street. You are behaving like robbers on the road. This is not right.
So at the moment we will see the next steps. We have stopped any negotiations with Tottenham. We are focused on the court case against Lyon, we will see the outcome and after that we will decide what steps we will take against Tottenham," Palkin said in an interview with The Telegraph.
