Romanian national team defender Radu Dragusin spoke about the goals of his national team at Euro 2024. Recall, at the group stage of the tournament, the Romanians will play in Group "E" with Belgium, Ukraine and Slovakia.
"We start our journey to Euro-2024 with such a first goal: to get out of the group. And I think we can achieve that goal. It's to our advantage that we are considered outsiders again by everyone. Nobody believed that we would qualify for Euro 2024, and we won our qualifying group. This gives us a lot of confidence. We are confident that we can perform at a good European level.
And I do not think that we are outsiders of our group. We will try to show it already in the match with Ukraine. I am sure that during these days we will study this team very well and make a plan to win in the upcoming match.
Usually the first two matches in the group at such tournaments are very similar. Teams don't take risks, they try to keep their game stable and reliable. And it's understandable, because any mistake could end up being fatal in the fight to get out of the group. So in the two starting matches we must be balanced and must not rush. But, on the other hand, we must not be too soft," Dragushin said during yesterday's press conference.
