Former Slovakia forward Marek Mintal has revealed what he thinks about his country's national team's prospects at Euro 2024, where it will start in Group E with Belgium, Ukraine and Romania.
"For me, the favorites of the group are the Belgians. But I am convinced that it won't be easy for them to beat us (Slovakia will play Belgium in the opening match of Euro 2024 - ed.). We also have good players, but they are of higher quality, of course, in the opponent's lineup.
The other three teams in the group are generally equal in strength and will fight for second place. I can't evaluate the Romanian national team in detail, because I haven't seen their matches for a long time. However, those who have been watching soccer for a long time know what to expect from the Romanians, what kind of soccer they will play.
I closely watched the Ukrainian national team a few days ago, when it played against Germany in a friendly match. They are a formidable opponent. Yes, the Germans significantly outplayed them, but as soon as the Ukrainians got space, they became very dangerous. There are smart and dangerous players in the Ukrainian national team," SportWeb quoted Mintal as saying.
