Famous Ukrainian coach Mykola Pavlov commented on the game of Dynamo Kyiv midfielder and Ukraine national team Mykola Shaparenko in the second match of the group stage of Euro-2024 against Slovakia (2:1).
"I am happy. I am pleased with the way Shaparenko played today, gave a productive pass and scored. I am very pleased. Yesterday I was congratulated by his father (Nikolay Pavlov turned 70 on June 20 - note). I was very pleased, we often communicate. He called me yesterday on the phone and I said that Kolya played not the way he should have played (in the match against Romania (0:3) - note). He replied: "Yes, I was upset too". I said: "He'll probably play better in the next game. And so he did," said Pavlov.
