Former player and coach, and now technical director of the Romanian Football Federation Mihai Stoikice admitted that he would be satisfied with a draw in the match of the 3rd round of the group stage of Euro 2024 in Group "E" Slovakia - Romania, which would ensure both teams' exit to the 1/8 finals.
"In this case, the most correct thing is a rational calculation. And he is now such that a draw will suit both Romania and Slovakia. Therefore, I think both teams will play without risk.
It would be, of course, very interesting to know what the Slovaks have to say about it. But how can I not agree to a draw with Slovakia, if it suits our team? There is no sense in taking risks. In this situation we have to be smart. To get out of the group, we can be satisfied with a draw. It's not a matter of pride. This is the only logical answer, because our goal is the same: to get out of the group. Sometimes you need to be a little more calculating to get the necessary result," Fanatik quoted Stoykice as saying.
It should be noted that in case of a draw in the match between Slovakia and Romania, the Ukrainian national team will need a victory over Belgium in the parallel match of the 3rd round of the group stage of Euro 2024 to get out of the group "E".
