Famous coach and now a recognized expert Oleh Fedorchuk analyzed the crushing victory of Dynamo Kyiv over Partizan Belgrade (6:2) in the Champions League qualifiers.

Oleg Fedorchuk

- We concede the first goal, but then score four, ending with a 6-2 victory. What are your impressions of Dynamo's first official match of the season?

- My impressions are extremely positive. I can't remember when the team was in such good physical shape at an early stage of qualifying for European competitions. In general, Dynamo looked agile, moved easily on the field, and had serious speed, but some players did not always get into the rhythm. At the beginning, I want to highlight the players I liked.

- Here they are.

- The best three in this game were Shaparenko, Brazhko and Kabaev. And it's not because they were effective. They led the game and were very bright in the match against Partizan. As for Brazhko, those clubs that didn't buy him for €10 million this summer will be biting their elbows, because in the future they will have to pay €40-50 million.

- Who did you not like today?

- There are also three, but I'll start with Vanat. Vladislav did not feel the game to the fullest, perhaps the break in the national team did not go in favor, because he practically did not play at Euro 2024. This is also a psychological problem for the player. Yarmolenko also looked quite uncertain, he did not look like himself, he practically did not aggravate the game. And the third I will name Karavaev, who, although he scored, was, as always, quite unreliable in defense. But Oleksandr has been playing like this all his life, because he is an attacking player, not a defender.

- What can you say about Partizan's game? It seems that the level of the Belgrade team is currently quite low.

- I'm ashamed of Serbian football. I was very surprised by the large number of legionnaires, because in the countries of the former Yugoslavia, all clubs are usually focused on training and selling their own players, not on acquiring legionnaires. It's an amazing situation. In general, Partizan is a very rough team, immobile and aggressive.

They are lucky to have found a place for referees with such low qualifications. We need to review it, but there were at least three more cards that should have been given. The foul against Bushchan was a straight red! He could have been seriously injured.

Otherwise, Partizan is a very weak team, but at the start of the season, even weak teams must be able to beat them.

- What are the prospects for Shovkovskyi's Dynamo?

- In general, the team looks quite promising. I really liked the coaching work: confident, thoughtful. Shovkovskyi is getting better as a coach every day. At the same time, the players are also making progress under him.

A coach should not only deliver results, but also reveal players - Shovkovskyi succeeds in this. Lucescu worked with the same squad, except that Denys Harmash is not there now (smiles). And the team is completely different - easier to play, more powerful, more modern, aimed at revealing the individual qualities of the players. The only thing I wanted was for the center of attack to be sharper.

Fedorchuk's ratings for the match:

Georgiy Bushchan - 6.0

(Flashscore : 6.6)

- An ambiguous performance. He brought a few chances, but did not always manage a few moments. Even that second missed goal was his mistake, because the team was very low. But he is an experienced goalkeeper and had to prevent this, to manage. However, he had little work to do. And I understand that when a goalkeeper has little work, it is difficult for him to be in good shape.

Kostiantyn Vivcharenko - 7.5

(Flashscore - 6.5)

- He is well prepared functionally. He and Kabayev understand each other well. Up front, Vivcharenko acted confidently, but the defense... There were a few mistakes, but overall, he played a good match. I understand that the coaching staff considers him to be the main player for this position.

Denis Popov - 7.5

(Flashscore : 7.1)

- He showed a very confident game. Denys has improved a lot recently, when Shovkovskyi joined Dynamo. He is one of those players whom the new coaching staff managed to bring to a higher level.

Maksym Dyachuk - 7.0

(Flashscore : 6.5)

- Didn't always make the right decisions and earned a few unnecessary fouls. However, I liked his teamwork with Popov in this game.

Alexander Karavayev - 6.0

(Flashscore : 7.8)

- Karavaev hasn't changed since his days playing for Zorya. Oleksandr is really creative and very capable on the attack, soft, with a good sense of goal. For a fullback, he scores a lot, but this lack of confidence in defense...

The penalty and, as a result, the first goal on his conscience. Karavayev should not have acted like that at all: he should have played into the body, pushed the player out. A childish mistake. However, I will repeat once again that this is not his position, he is an attacking player.

Vladimir Brazhko - 8.0

(Flashscore : 7.4)

- Brazhko is entering the leadership positions. It seems to me that a little more and he will have the captain's armband. Volodymyr plays more confidently at Dynamo than in the national team. I noted that he started moving more with the ball, absorbing space, which was not the case before.

I remembered how Bezsonov used to play this position back in the Soviet Union. He also took the ball and absorbed space in this way, which adds tension for the opponent's players. In general, I don't remember such a powerful player as Brazhko in the support area, who would score so much. For the beginning of the season, Volodymyr looks very powerful.

Vitalii Buyalskyi - 6.5

(Flashscore : 6.7)

- The half was played, there were moments, but a lot of fuss, nerves. Buyalsky was not as confident as usual. Let's hope he continues to gain. He is currently in good physical shape, but otherwise he needs to improve.

Mykola Shaparenko - 8.5

(Flashscore - 7.4)

- Mykola "flies and plows". He's like a bird, light, and he plays the game. I liked that he evenly distributes attacks: left, right. If Shaparenko sees that a flank is overloaded, he will pass the ball to the opposite flank. He is Dynamo's chief designer.

Vladyslav Kabaev - 8.0

(Flashscore : 7.8)

- I agree with the opinion that Kabaev is progressing with every game. But in general, with the arrival of Shovkovsky's coaching staff, Vladislav's game has shone with new colors. It is noticeable that he has a psychological contact with the coach. He used to be in the shadows, it seemed that he had given up and would not succeed at Dynamo. But under Shovkovskyi, he won a place in the sun and became the main man.

Andriy Yarmolenko - 6.5

(Flashscore : 7.0)

- He didn't look like himself. He had a few chances, but in general Yarmolenko did not look bright. There were very few chances with his participation. However, Andriy is an age player, I'm sure he will improve, but he needs time.

Vladyslav Vanat - 6.0

(Flashscore : 6.5)

- Today Vanat was not in the places where a striker of his level should be. He moved a lot, interfered with the opponent, but was not qualitatively visible. When a team scores six goals, takes so many shots on goal, and the only striker doesn't score a goal, it's surprising.

- Do you think Dynamo should sign another forward in this transfer window?

- The striker position needs competition and depth. Forwards are often beaten on the legs, they get injured. The main one goes out - that's it. Who should play? You need to have at least two good strikers. Currently, Dynamo has Vladyslav Supryaha and Matviy Ponomarenko, but they are not ready yet.

- What can you say about the players who came on as substitutes for Dynamo?

- Malysh was very nervous, he made three mistakes in simple situations. But I noticed that he has very decent speed. The fact that he came on in such a difficult moment shows that he has potential. Let's hope that with experience his game will improve, his prospects are good.

Voloshin was also nervous, he picked up two unnecessary fouls. Pikhalonok just started to feel confident and scored. Andrievsky and Lonwijk didn't have time to prove themselves in this game, so I wouldn't rate the game of the reserves.
