Honored Coach of Ukraine Myron Markevych reacted to the news of the serious illness of former player and coach of Odesa-based Chornomorets Andriy Telesnenko.
- "Telesnenko was a great footballer and a decent person," Myron Markevych assessed his younger colleague, "I remember his confident play for Chornomorets in the late 80s and early 90s. He was the captain of the Odesa team and also took part in matches for the national team. Although I didn't know him very well, I remember him well as a player and then as a coach. We once crossed paths with Andriy during a match dedicated to Dnipro's 100th anniversary. It was six years ago, when we played together at the Dnipro Arena as part of the Ukrainian national team. He is a nice person. I wish him only one thing in this difficult period - to stay alive. And I would like to call on the football community to consolidate efforts to save Andriy Telesnenko.
