Polesya Zhytomyr midfielder Oleksandr Nazarenko shared his emotions in connection with his debut call-up to the Ukrainian national team.
"To be honest, I do not yet realize that I am in the national team - still a little shocked and confused.
How did I find out about the call-up to the national team? After the last match of "Polesie" in the championship we were given two days off. I wanted to go home, took tickets to Dnipro, came to my train. And then I got a call, they said that I was going to the national team. My phone even fell out of my hands. So I am very excited now. But happy.
Yes, there were rumors that I could get in the reserve list of the Ukraine national team for the October matches. And so it turned out. But even when I got into the reserve list, I was shocked. So now, first of all, I want to calm down a bit, to come to my senses. And from the first day of the training camp I want to concentrate on the work and from the first day to join the training process. I really want to get a foothold in the national team of Ukraine, so that this was not the last call for me," - said Nazarenko in a commentary to the press service of the UAF.
