Sergei Rebrov- First of all, I must say that today was a very hard field. Yesterday, after the training session, all the guys here said in one voice that it was the worst pitch they had seen. But it is understandable, it rained here for a long time, and it affected the condition of the pitch.
I am grateful to the team for this game, for showing character, it was very important, especially on such a field. As a result, we got very important three points.
- When we decided on the venue for this match, was the pitch in the same condition as today?
- No. But two or three weeks ago there were discussions about whether the match would be played here. When we chose this stadium, the pitch was in a completely different condition. But in general, I think the choice was right, this is a great stadium.
- How do you evaluate Kalyuzhnykh's debut for the Ukraine national team?
- I think there is nothing to say: he was one of the best on the field today, he took a lot of balls, he worked very hard for the team. But today all the guys fought like in the last game.
- What did you say to the team after the match?
- I thanked the guys. They always had desire, but this desire should be demonstrated on the field and at the same time show character - this is what happened today. It is important that we were the first to score. After that we played more on the counterattack.
- In the course of the match it seemed that Dovbik's task was to throw the ball to someone when he had it, but there was no one for such a pass.
- When you are under pressure, you always have to look for a striker. I can't say that there was no one for Dovbik's passes, but sometimes our backline didn't have time. But, I repeat, all the guys today left their strengths on the field, and we will analyze the game itself.
