Alex Ferguson was not present at Old Trafford in MU's first match after his dismissal

The official reason given was cost-cutting measures, as the most successful manager in the club's history earned £2 million a year. Ferguson and other members of the club's football board were denied access to the team's locker room.

According to the Daily Mail, Ferguson's absence at Old Trafford is not related to any disorder in the club's hierarchy.
