The legendary Scottish coach Sir Alex Ferguson did not attend the match of the 8th round of the English Championship between Manchester United and Brentford (2:1).
This week, it became known that Manchester United's management decided to dismiss Ferguson from his position as the club's global ambassador. The official reason given was cost-cutting measures, as the most successful manager in the club's history earned £2 million a year. Ferguson and other members of the club's football board were denied access to the team's locker room.
According to the Daily Mail, Ferguson's absence at Old Trafford is not related to any disorder in the club's hierarchy.
