Midfielder of Donetsk Shakhtar Artem Bondarenko shared his impressions from the match against Dynamo in the 11th round of the Ukrainian championship.
Artem Bondarenko— I think we deserved to win, as we played very good football and created many chances. Of course, after the red card, we had to defend for the last 30 minutes, but before that, we dominated and were leading. The intensity, as always, was there: everyone saw the emotions and passion. Dynamo wanted to win, and so did we. From the first minutes — yellow cards, tension, so I think the spectators found the game interesting.
It’s hard to play against a team like Dynamo when you’re leading. We wanted to hold on to the win, as given our tournament position, it was important. It’s a pity that we conceded at the end of the match, but that’s football. It was great football against a good opponent on their field. I would like to say that it was the best match, but we didn’t bring it to victory, so I probably can’t claim that,” said Bondarenko.
