Former Arsenal midfielder Adrian Clarke believes that Ukrainian defender Alexander Zinchenko has not yet regained the necessary level of readiness after his injury. This conclusion was drawn by the expert following the match between Arsenal and Preston (3:0) in the English League Cup, where the Ukrainian appeared in the starting lineup for the Gunners and was substituted in the 62nd minute of the game.
“For now, Zinchenko is a very decent reserve for the future. But he simply does not look fully ready at the moment. In the match against Preston, Zinchenko probably showed one of his weakest games. And he was one of the worst in Arsenal. Yes, he didn’t do anything wrong, but he didn’t play as he is capable of either.
Zinchenko looked very tired from the very start. So I think either he still has some issues, or he is in the process of getting back into shape. In any case, he is definitely not ready for the Premier League level right now,” said Adrian Clarke while appearing on the Handbrake Off podcast.
Let us remind you that in the match against Preston, Zinchenko played for Arsenal for the first time since August—after which he sustained an injury.
