"Genoa" has officially announced that Alberto Gilardino has been relieved of his duties as head coach after a two-year tenure at the helm of the "griffins".

"The club thanks Mr. Gilardino for the goals we achieved together over the many years, and wishes him all the best in his career," the club's statement reads.
Gilardino became the fourth coach in the Italian league to lose his job this season after Daniele De Rossi and Ivan Juric left "Roma", as well as the dismissal of Luca Gotti from "Lecce".
