The former head coach of Kyiv’s Dynamo, Mircea Lucescu, who currently leads the Romanian national team, will temporarily return to Ukraine in December.
The 79-year-old will undergo surgery for coxarthrosis of the right hip and wants this procedure to be performed at the same clinic in Kyiv where in 2023 he had a similar surgery on his left hip and was very satisfied with the results, reports Fanatik.
Lucescu initially planned to have the surgery this autumn, but after taking up the position of head coach of the Romanian national team, he postponed those plans.
Recently, the coach has not been able to part with painkillers, but with the onset of cold weather, the pain has often become unbearable, so Lucescu is determined not to delay the surgery any longer and is looking for a suitable “window” for the procedure in December.
