Goalkeeper of Lviv’s Karpaty Yakiv Kynareikin shared his impressions from the recent match against Donetsk’s Shakhtar (0:0) in the 21st round of the Ukrainian championship.

— In five matches this season, you have not conceded in four. In particular, against the champion.
— I consider the small number of conceded goals a merit not only of the defense but also of the whole team, as we all work hard on the field. Goals are a matter of time. During the break for the national teams, we will adjust this aspect.
— Did you earn "your" points from these matches or lose them?
— In Karpaty, if we do not win, it means we have lost scoring points. Be it against Vorskla or Shakhtar.
When the field is poor or the opponent is of a high level, we still have to adapt. Therefore, in the upcoming matches, we will get our points.
— Did I understand correctly that you consider the draw with Shakhtar a loss of points?
— I really think so. Of course, every point is worth its weight in gold. We could have scored, especially in the second half, we had a few good chances, but there Riznyk saved or we shot wide of the goal. Overall, we could have taken three points.
— The match with Shakhtar was just your showcase. The best match of your career?
— I can say it was a great match. We played unusually, allowing Shakhtar to play the ball, and then we covered them. At the same time, we acted boldly and confidently.
— What emotions did you feel during the match, was it something special?
— In terms of feelings, every match I played had separate emotions and sensations. In this match, I will long remember the support from the fans, the full stadium, as they say, “sold out.”
I had confidence and calm throughout the match — this is most important for a goalkeeper. I try not to panic in any episode, to play calmly, so as to benefit the team.
— And after the final whistle?
— Emotions were overflowing. The next day after the match, there were almost no emotions left, I feel exhausted both physically and morally.
— What did the coaches and relatives say after the match?
— My family is satisfied, they all watched the match, cheered for me. We have not yet analyzed the game with the coaches, it is expected in the coming days.
