Following the results of this week's European Cup matches, Ukraine did not change its position in the UEFA coefficient table.

Last Wednesday, Shakhtar Donetsk drew with Italian Bologna (0-0) in the first round of the Champions League main stage.

As a result, Ukraine remained in 21st place in the UEFA coefficient table.

The key position in this part of the table is the 15th position: countries that occupy positions 1 to 15 in the table inclusively delegate two representatives to the Champions League, not one.

Recall that the final table of UEFA coefficients this season will determine the representation of countries in the European cups of the season-2026/27. At the same time, in the season-2025/26 Ukraine will be represented in the Champions League by one team for the first time in many years.

On September 19, a joint press conference was held in Kyiv between Dynamo Kyiv and its new official partner in European Cup matches, GGBET. The event was held in the Rest Hall of CEC Parkovy and was dedicated to the team's participation in the main round of the UEFA Europa League.

One of the speakers was Dmytro Brief, Vice President of the capital's club, who, in particular, commented on the choice of Hamburg as the city to host Dynamo's home matches in the main stage of the Europa League.

Barcelona's head coach Hans-Dieter Flick shared his expectations for the team's start in the Champions League.

"We can win the Champions League. Big clubs like Barcelona want to win titles, and the Champions League is the best competition in the world. We're ready to play against the best," Flick was quoted as saying by UEFA's official website.

Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella, who led the team with the captain's armband to the Champions League match against Manchester City, shared his thoughts on the game's result.

"This team won the scudetto last season and didn't do enough in the Champions League, so this year we want to do more in Europe. We are growing, we have gained experience, and that helps. We reached the final two years ago, we want to do it again.

More and more professional footballers are talking about the heavy demands of the 2024/2025 season, when players could potentially play 70 to 80 games during the season following the expanded Champions League and the introduction of a new 32-team format for the Club World Cup.

"Of course, a strike is possible. The players are not counted on. And we are the ones who should express our indignation.

I think if you ask any player, they will tell you the same thing. This is not just Rodri's opinion. I think it's the opinion of many players, and if this continues, there will come a time when there will be no other way out. I don't know what will happen, but it's something that worries us because we are suffering from it ourselves," Carvajal was quoted as saying.

Former Shakhtar defender Oleksandr Kucher has named the best player of Donetsk's 0-0 match with Bologna in the Champions League.

- "I believe that Dmytro Riznyk was Shakhtar's best player in this match. There were plenty of chances near his goal, but Riznyk was very good, both on the outs and on the line. He saved the team several times," the expert noted.

"I think we proved ourselves well. We are a modest club, this is our first appearance in the Champions League and we did a good job.
