"Dynamo" risks losing Verbich for free - "Panathinaikos" agreed on a contract with the player

The Greek "Panathinaikos" practically closed the transfer of Benjamin Verbich. In the coming days, the "Dynamo" legionnaire may leave the Ukrainian club.

Benjamin Verbich, who is one of two legionnaires in the "Dynamo" squad (the other is Tomas Kendzora), is close to moving to "Panathinaikos". The 20-time champion of Greece agreed to sign the winger of the Slovenian national team.

After several weeks of negotiations with the player, the Greek club closed the transfer of 28-year-old Verbich. The Slovenian verbally agreed to a three-year deal with Panathinaikos, taking advantage of FIFA's rule to unimpededly terminate cooperation with Ukrainian clubs due to the war.

The only thing that remains to be agreed is whether Benjamin will help Dynamo Kyiv in the third qualifying round of the Champions League against the Austrian Sturm. This will be known in the next day or two, reports Sportday.gr.

Igor Surkis has come to terms with the loss of the legionnaire for free, but is trying to persuade Verbich to stay until the end of the contract, which is valid until the end of the current year. According to the president of "Dynamo", a potential game in the group tournament of the Champions League will allow Benjamin to find a better club than Panathinaikos and to move to more favorable conditions for himself. This is claimed by the same Greek mass media.

Verbich moved to "Dynamo" at the beginning of 2018 from "Copenhagen" for 4 million euros. The Slovenian played the second half of the 2021/22 season in the Warsaw Legia on loan, after which he returned to Kyiv.

Вербич никакого влияния на игру Динамо в атаке давно не оказывает. Его уход для Динамо вопрос скорее финансовый.
