Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Viktor Kornienko was out of action for a long time.
Victor KornienkoThe 23-year-old football player was injured in the 67th minute of the Sunday match of the 2nd round of the Ukrainian Championship with Kryvbas (1:0). A subsequent medical examination showed a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee joint in Kornienko.
The defender will undergo surgery next Monday. The estimated recovery time for Kornienko will be 6 months.
