Today, Serhiy Baltacha, a defender of Dynamo Kyiv in the 1980s, celebrates his 65th birthday. On behalf of our club, the president of FC Dynamo Kyiv Ihor Surkis congratulated the hero of the day.
Dear Serhii Pavlovych!
On this festive day, you will receive congratulations from England, Scotland, your native Ukraine and all over Europe. Wherever the Dynamo football school is known and respected, your name is heard with glory and pride. FC Dynamo Kyiv also joins in with our sincere congratulations and best wishes. For us, you will always remain a true Dynamo player, a fan favourite, one of the important cogs in Valeriy Lobanovsky's outstanding team of the 80s.
On the football field, you embodied reliability, sports courage, dedication, endurance and indomitability. For more than ten years as a member of Dynamo, you remained the king of the air and the pillar of the team's defence, deservedly winning four championship titles and the USSR Cup, as well as becoming the winner of the UEFA Cup with our club.
Your outstanding playing and leadership qualities have always been complemented by your human virtues - decency, kindness, justice, willingness to support and help, a high level of culture and morality.
On the world sporting stage, you made a name for Ukrainian football by winning gold medals at the European and World Youth Championships and becoming the vice-champion of the European continent and an Olympic medallist. You continue to proudly carry the Ukrainian flag even now, working in the coaching profession in the friendly UK. You remain a patriot of our country and support a positive image of Ukraine abroad.
Let me express my gratitude for your professionalism and dedication to football and your country. I wish you peace in Ukraine, a great Ukrainian victory, good health, family harmony, inspiration and professional success!
Sincerest regards,
President of FC Dynamo Kyiv
Ihor Surkis
