Former Dynamo mentor Oleksandr Khatskevich told why Pavel Orikhovsky and Artur Rudko did not play at the heart of the Kyiv Grand at one time.
Alexander Khatskevich- Oleksandr Nikolayevich, Pavlo Orikhovsky and Artur Rudko gave an interview for Ukrainian Football and almost accused you of not being part of Dynamo.
— Pasha is a good footballer. Yes, he plays at the level and he had a certain level even then. So you named the names of five football players, right?
- Five football players - and Pavel Orikhovsky sixth.
- At what level did these players continue to play?
- Oleksandr Tymchyk at Dynamo and Bohdan Mykhailychenko at Shakhtar are well known, so to speak.
- All these guys were still with Rebrov. If they represented potential for the first team, then probably any coach would not refuse good players. Therefore, apparently, at that time there were guys who were stronger in this position and more promising. Sasha Tymchik went on loan, returned to Dynamo four years later. What prevented the same Pasha Orikhovsky from doing the same?
Mikhailichenko, by coincidence, is now playing at Shakhtar. I think that if not for the war in Ukraine, then Bogdan might never have ended up in the Donetsk club. Therefore, I don’t think that I made any mistake in relation to these guys. Many players went on loan.
Probably, Pasha had a chance to gain a foothold under Rebrov, but I did not see the potential that he would strengthen Dynamo (Kyiv). Everything is fair and why should someone deceive and make promises? If you are strong, then you prove it on loan and then you are invited back. But neither Mikhailichenko nor Lucescu later returned Orikhovsky back from the lease.
- Now I am quoting a question to Artur Rudko and his answer: “After the end of the season, Rebrov left, and Alexander Khatskevich was appointed in his place. Why did you lose confidence?" “Even I still don’t know. At the training camp, I won the competition and started the season as the first number ... ".
- There were Rudko, Koval and Buschan. I saw the prospect at that time more in Bushchan. But then I chose Koval and Bushchan, yes. It was my decision. Artur was with Rebrov in a cage with Sanya Shovkovsky and believed that he was winning the competition. That was five years ago and so many different stories.
Each coach sees it in his own way and the requirements for the goalkeeper are also different. I did not make the decision myself - there is a coaching staff and a goalkeeping coach as well. Therefore, such a decision was made collectively. I do not know the situation with his contract - they offered him to extend the agreement or not. Then he left for Paphos, an international career began, he tried himself in the Polish championship (annual loan until the summer of 2023 in Lech - approx. E.Ch.).
This is football life, and with any coach, someone was once the main one, and a new coach comes in and sees everything in his own way. Here you need to understand and treat professionally. I understand that the dream of any Ukrainian footballer is to play for Dynamo (Kyiv), but I saw it from my side. If necessary, then my doors were always open, and whoever wanted to came to me. Someone left with resentment, someone with understanding. A coach a priori cannot be the same for everyone. There are more than 20 players on the team. The coach treats some people this way, others differently. Someone to the coach is not like another football player. But by pull or by acquaintance, no one played for me.
