Former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard commented on the outcome of the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals between Milan and Inter Milan.
"Milan's performance is far from the level of the Champions League semi-finals, and that's frightening. They looked like a bunch of players who took to the field. They did not play collectively. The Milan coach will need to wrack his brain.
Milan had no heart. Tonali played extremely lazy, allowing the man to run away from him. There was no relationship between the two central midfielders, no communication. Where is the communication and how can you let someone run straight through the heart of the team?
For the whole 90 minutes, Milan's two centre-backs and two centre-mids were passive and weak," the former Liverpool midfielder told BT Sport.
