El Mundo has published a report by FIFA's disciplinary committee, based on which Luis Rubiales was removed from the Spanish Football Federation, Marca reports.
Luis Rubiales. Photo: reuters.comThe report states that Rubiales, by kissing Jenny Hermoso at the 2023 World Cup awards ceremony, caused "irreparable damage to the world of football" and "caused very serious damage to the image, reputation and integrity of football".
FIFA stressed that it could not tolerate "pressure on the player and her entourage to testify in his favour".
It was reported that FIFA head Gianni Infantino considers the joint bid of Spain, Portugal and Morocco to be the favourite to host the 2030 World Cup. This should not be affected by the situation and the Rubiales resignation scandal.
