Former Dynamo Kyiv and Ukrainian national team forward Roman Zozulya has spoken out about Irina Farion's verbal diarrhoea against Russian-speaking defenders of Ukraine.
"Ukraine should have a single state language - Ukrainian. This is a fact. I support the development, promotion and strengthening of the legislative framework that will facilitate the final transition to Ukrainian in all spheres.
At the same time, I believe that a person who allows himself to humiliate and insult those who have helped Ukraine to hold on and resist Russia for 10 years is a deliberate provocateur and pest.
People very close to me, including my father, serve in Azov and in the Armed Forces in general. And I and my children will honour and thank each of them, regardless of the language they defend us in.
Most of our soldiers do not have the opportunity, time or desire to give interviews and advice, but each of them is literally burning everything Russian from our land, risking their own lives. So sometimes it is very useful for someone to shut up and pray for those who have prevented Russian from becoming the state language here.
Glory to the Defenders of Ukraine!" Zozulya wrote on his Facebook page.
