"In September last year, in a difficult situation, I was asked to head this organisation as acting head. I agreed and did everything I could to be useful. Now the circumstances have developed in such a way that I have decided to resign from the position of the AVFU head. I made this decision for personal reasons. Now I continue to work for the UAF and stay in football because football is my life," Demyanenko said.

Ruslan Borovyk, whose memory this tournament is dedicated to, was a true patriot of Ukraine, a model of courage. As a young man, he signed his first contract after completing his military service. This was followed by peacekeeping missions to Iraq. Ruslan had an active civic position and took part in the Revolution of Dignity. When Russian aggression began in eastern Ukraine, he volunteered for the ATO zone, where he and his comrades fought in the fiercest battles near the Donetsk airport. While performing combat missions, he found time for his hobby of photography. His photos from the airport were seen all over Ukraine. After his demobilisation, Ruslan helped his fellow soldiers in their rehabilitation after the war, working at the Kyiv City Centre for Assistance to ATO Veterans at the Kyiv City State Administration, actively engaged in sports, ran marathons, and participated in the Defenders' March.

On 24 February 2022, he once again stood up to defend our homeland in the ranks of the 95th Air Assault Brigade. During the fierce battles for the city of Izyum, Kharkiv region, on 30 April 2022, Ruslan took his last stand...

The tournament was attended by active servicemen, soldiers undergoing rehabilitation after returning from the front, as well as civilians who were forced to leave their homes in eastern and southern Ukraine due to Russian aggression. In total, there are four teams: FC Patriot, Friends and Brothers, IDPs and Army.
