Former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has spoken out about Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Having received a special permit from the Cameroon Football Federation, Onana delayed his departure for the national team to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations by almost two weeks. This allowed the 27-year-old goalkeeper to play for MU in the FA Cup match against Wigan and against Tottenham in the Premier League. As a result, Onana flew to Côte d'Ivoire on a charter the day before the national team's first match, but in the 1-1 draw with Guinea, there was no place for Andre in the goal.
The fact that this situation is happening indicates a problem - maybe even with the Federation. He is taking a big risk because he has been turned away by the Cameroonian fans, as well as many African fans and undoubtedly some teammates," Adebayor was quoted as saying by the Daily. Mirror.
