Sports commentator Vitaliy Volochay has expressed his opinion on the news that 1+1 distribution will distribute the UPL TV channel, which will broadcast Ukrainian championship matches.

Distribution and production are different things. This announcement does not mean that Pros will produce matches, studios or content. The UPL communicated poorly and did not explain this. "Plus" will be engaged in distribution, that is, the distribution of the UPL TV channel. Imagine that you have received a licence and launched a channel, let's say, about fishing. You need this channel to be on cable networks - on Megogo, Kyivstar TV, anywhere. You can go to each cable operator, each OTT provider and negotiate.
Or you can entrust the distribution to someone else. For example, to Plus. They distribute a lot of channels across different networks. "1+1", "2+2", "Curlers", "Cartoons", some of their own channels, and some not. In fact, the "pluses" give platforms and providers a bundle of their channels, which will include UPL TV. From the point of view of coverage, few people can distribute better than the "pluses".
Let me emphasise once again that this does not mean that the matches will be filmed and produced by the studios. This does not exclude this possibility, of course, but the announcement clearly states that the UPL will do it itself, hiring some contractors (the contractor can also be the "pluses", but then what's the point of announcing it like that), so do not confuse the soft with the warm," Volochai wrote on his telegram channel.
