Another refereeing scandal in Ukrainian football. Obolon president Oleksandr Slobodian accused the referees of being biased, referring in particular to the episode with the sending off of Serhiy Sukhanov.
- I want to say that little has changed in our football refereeing over the past 25 years. We made official requests to the UAF and wrote to them not to assign us referees like Kopiyevsky or Ivanov. Somehow, today Kopiyevsky was sitting on VAR. I think he influenced the sending off of our player. And then we played with the ten of us. After many years, this work with the referee remains and was even in today's game. The referee was controlled by Shakhtar players.
Were there any penalties? Yes, there was a serious fight. But in this case, they give a yellow card, not a red one. The referee seemed to have come from Milan. But he does not see Italian football and how Serie A is judged there. Apparently, he has not seen the work of a referee in the Premier League. Once again, I want to say that that episode did not deserve a red card. The referees influenced the outcome of this match," said Slobodyan.
