Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Vladyslav Kabayev commented on his team's 5-0 victory over Kolos Kovaliv in yesterday's match of the 27th round of the Ukrainian championship.
- The game left a great impression. The first half was a little blurry. But Kolos has a new coach and an interesting pattern of play. We were preparing, but the opponent surprised us a little bit in a pleasant way. They play a lot of passing, interesting tactics. In the first half, it was a bit difficult, but I told the team that it was okay that the first half was 0-0. Yes, of course, not everything worked out, but we always add to it. Or we are physically better prepared, I think. In the second half, we press and win.
That's what happened today - the first goal, the second... Then they lost their moral, and we, on the contrary, had positive emotions. The main thing is that we believed and did not panic. And it brought results. It was only positive. We are very happy to be in the championship race. A very interesting game awaits us, you and the fans with Shakhtar.
- Kolos has conceded four goals in the last six matches, and today in one half - five. What is the reason for this?
- Kolos has experienced defenders, and Mykyta Burda is playing very well. The key role was played by skill, and we are working on it in training. We turned half-chances into goals.
- Wasn't the opposition playing too hard?
- I understand that Kolos has its own objectives. They also wanted to get points. I have no complaints about the Kolos guys. I would probably have played the same way if I had the same task. As for the referees' decisions, we need to rewatch the game. He didn't whistle much. Yes, he let the game go on, but when the score is 0-0, we need to score, the player fouls roughly once or twice, and the referee does not give him a yellow card, does not "put him on the mustard seed" Of course, this causes negative emotions for me and the team, and has a negative effect on the team. It's not good that I lost my temper somewhere, but these are emotions, I'm human. And the referee is human, he could have overlooked something. It's okay, it happens.
- If the UPL referees adopt the approach of the UPL referees - letting them play more - will it be beneficial?
- I have experience of playing in European competitions for Dynamo and Zorya. Yes, they let you play a little harder, but not much. I wouldn't say that we were spoilt in the UPL, but you get used to it when the referee can even react to a shout. Like today, you have to look at individual moments. But in general, I'm only for this approach, because later, when you play in Europe, you are pushed a little, and you fall down and scream - they look at you like a child. I talked a lot about this with Andriy Yarmolenko, and Zabarnyi and Mykolenko also talk about it. We would like the refereeing to be like that, but it will take time to get used to it. After all, today there were some moments that caused negative emotions.
- Today was probably the best atmosphere of the season, in the stands and on the pitch?
- Yes, one hundred per cent. We considered that today was a holiday, and the coach said that a lot of fans would come, and we had to please them with our game. I heard that in the first half the fans were shouting "why did we come here?" It probably worked. In the second half, we got going and pressed. I hope that we pleased them with our performance and will continue to do so. I know that the fans, we, and the club management want to win this championship. We are doing everything for this.
- The next game is against Shakhtar. Are you ready in terms of psychology? Do you understand that only a victory will be a success?
- One hundred per cent. Now I don't want to say loud words that we will be champions. Let's prove it not in words but in deeds. "Shakhtar is a very good team, we can see how they play. They are our direct competitors. It will be a very interesting game. I won't promise anything, but there will definitely be no indifference on the football pitch on our part.
