Karpaty head coach Myron Markevych explained why his son Ostap decided to return to Spain after leaving the Lviv team:
"First of all, it should be clarified that it was my initiative for Ostap to help me at Karpaty, and I asked him to come. Still, I hadn't been actively coaching for about six years. My son responded to my invitation, and I think we have coped with our mission: the green and whites did not become the strongest team in the first league, but they returned to the UPL.
Now, as for my son's departure to Spain, he has been living in this country for about ten years. Family circumstances prompted him to return, first of all, his son needs his father's support. Secondly, Ostap wants to work independently, especially since he is not a newcomer to Spanish football - he worked for four years in the structure of the famous Villarreal. I know he has interesting offers, and I can only wish him good luck.
Although I am counting on Ostap's help as a scout, he knows the Spanish football market well, and I hope that he will soon recommend a local player to Karpaty," Markevych said.
