A friendly match between Germany and Ukraine (0:0) almost ended in tragedy. Emergency services found an explosive device near the Max-Morlock stadium in Nuremberg, reports Team1.
On Monday, June 3, the national team of Ukraine played the first of three control matches in preparation for Euro 2024. In Nuremberg, Serhiy Rebrov's wards drew a goalless draw against Germany (0: 0).
As it became known later, at the end of the game, the police categorically forbade anyone to leave the stadium, as local emergency services found an explosive object near the arena where the match took place. Players of both teams and all fans had to stay at the stadium. Only VIP guests were allowed to leave.
An operational investigation revealed that there was no real threat.
