Germany midfielder Ilkay Gundogan spoke about the episode that almost led to a serious injury in the Euro 2024 opening match against Scotland (5-1). Toward the end of the first half, Ryan Porteous flew dangerously into Gundogan's supporting leg, for which he received a straight red card.

"My leg? I've had worse. I had a feeling that it would be limited to a scare, and in the end, it was.
