Croatia's captain Luka Modric commented on the result of the 2nd round of the Euro 2024 group stage match with Albania (2:2).
"In the first half, something went wrong - we started the game worse again, conceded a quick goal, after which it became more difficult to play. In the second half, the coach made some changes, and everything went very well until the last 5-10 minutes, when for some reason we retreated, allowing them to create two or three chances at our goal and eventually score.
In the current situation, we need a win to move on. Let's see how Spain and Italy play tomorrow. But for us, the situation is clear - we only need a win, and then we will see if four points are enough. We have no other options but to beat Italy. I believe we can do it," Modric was quoted as saying by the UEFA official website.
After two rounds of the Euro 2024 group stage, Croatia has one point and is in last place in Group B.
