Former president of Brazilian club Vitoria Salvador Paulo Carneiro, staying on the air of one of the talk shows, inadvertently told reporters a story about how he helped to substitute the tests of the then player of this team Matuzalem, who in the future made a good career in Europe, playing for Mircea Lucescu's Shakhtar.
"The season was over, I was at home. I was focused on my business. Then I got a call from the doorman saying that Preto [Casagrande], Allan Delon and Matuzalem broke into one of the entertainment venues early in the morning, jumped over the fence and hit the guard. I was forced to take my car and drive there. When I got to the entrance, I saw Preto first. He tripped over a couch and fell. Damn coward. Then I started for Matuzalem. I climbed the stairs after him and even changed his urine to save him from doping because he was a drug addict," Carneiro said.
Soon after, Carneiro asked journalists not to record or post the story, but they surprised him with the news that their communication was being broadcast online and it would not be possible to cut anything. At this point, the former Vitoria president threw away the microphone and began to fidget nervously.
"Are you joking?" - he said. And then continued: "Put it away, put it away, put it away please, or else.... For God's sake, don't even joke about it. You can put all of this away or I'm going to stop."
Soon, the Internet broadcast of the talk show did indeed stop. A statement released afterward said that the participants "are aware of and agree to the editorial policy and accept all risks of their behavior."
Note that Globoesporte journalists contacted Allan Delon and Preto Casagrande, who categorically denied everything Paulo Carneiro had said about them. As for Matuzalem, there has been no comment from him yet.
Matuzalem played for Vitoria in 1997 and 1998 before being sold to Swiss side Bellinzona. He subsequently played in Italy for Napoli, Piacenza, Parma and Brescia before moving to Shakhtar in the summer of 2004 for 14 million euros.
