On the way to a game against Polissya-2, minor league Uzhhorod was involved in an accident 100 kilometers away in Zhytomyr, the club's press service reports.
The minibus carrying the club's management and coaching staff was seriously damaged and is likely beyond repair. Head coach Yaromir Loboda, coach Robert Smokorovsky, and doctor Volodymyr Chervinyak were injured and taken to the nearest hospital. Physiotherapist Mykhailo Dankov and Strategic Director Felix Ardelyanov sustained less severe injuries.
The team suffered a psychological blow on the eve of the game, but after lengthy investigations, they still went to the evening training session. With a rather limited team, Uzhhorod is preparing to take the field and demonstrate their character despite the adversity, the source writes.
The Uzhhorod team also expressed gratitude to Polissya for their prompt response and assistance in transferring the Transcarpathian team from the accident site to the training base and hotel.
