Former Dynamo Kyiv coach Oleksandr Khatskevych summarized the results of September in the current Ukrainian championship.
Oleksandr Hatskevich- Who do you think is the best team in the UPL in September?
- In my understanding, Dynamo looks quite confident and strong in the Ukrainian league, although there is still a residue after Lazio.
Did Leonenko say that Dynamo can already be congratulated on the championship due to Shakhtar's poor results? The championship will only end in May(laughs). The fact that Shakhtar have already lost so many points (two defeats and a draw in seven matches) is, of course, surprising, given how confident the Donetsk team looked last season. But to say that Dynamo is already the champion... I wouldn't be so categorical.
- UPL disappointment team of September?
- Vorskla disappointed me the most this month. But I would also name Kryvbas, because the Kryvyi Rih team is not in the place we are used to.
- The best coach of September?
- Right now it's Rotan. "Oleksandriya looks confident and scores a lot. Ruslan Petrovych has moved away from the "Rotan style", this back-and-forth football, and the team has started playing more vertically. In terms of attack, Oleksandriya looks very interesting today.
- The best player of September?
- I'll put Hutsulyak here. He plays more consistently than Bondarenko. Oleksiy deserves a call-up to the national team.
- And finally, a little bit about the national team. The Ukrainian national team played two matches in the League of Nations in September and lost both: Albania (1-2) and the Czech Republic (2-3). Who is to blame for the poor start and what conclusions should be drawn?
- A lot of criticism has been heaped on the national team, and it is well-deserved. The conclusions should be drawn by the coaching staff and the players themselves. These two games have already passed and we need to prepare for the next matches. Everyone is talking about conclusions - after the Euro, now after the September games. But first of all, the players need to take responsibility for the team's results. It is not only the coach who is responsible.
What do I expect from the match with Georgia? The Georgians looked quite impressive at the Euros, it is clear that their game is organized, the team is united and they have good players of the European level. If the Georgians catch their breath, it will be difficult.
In Ukraine, there are players who are listed in big clubs but do not live up to expectations in the national team. The strongest players should play, regardless of their club affiliation. I won't say that Georgia will be a clear favorite, but due to their field and the game they show, I will give them a slight advantage. Georgia is a pretty strong and interesting team.
